Jimmy Ta is a practicing landscape urbanist at EDGEland Studio, Los Angeles. He specializes in computational systems, masterplanning, and infrastructural research. He is currently focusing on the emerging socio-economic impacts generated by the ramifications of suburban landscapes. His research, Interdital Mediations, has been featured in a research publication, Proyecto Progreso Arquitectura - Visiones Heterogeneas. Additionally, his research project - Photovoltaic Reformation: Dismantling Gas infrastructure was featured on the Green New Deal Super Studio - Curated set. Photovoltaic Reformation was also featured on Landscape Architecture Magazine, issue April 2022.
Jimmy Ta studied at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona and Architectural Association, School of Architecture in London. He holds a Master’s Degree from the Landscape Urbanism program at the Architectural Association and a professional degree in Landscape Architecture.
Since graduating from both programs, he has been teaching Transborder Landscapes and practicing in landscape architecture in the greater Los Angeles region. He has a multi-disciplinary experience at design, architecture, and construction firms.
